The Huawei Health Lab, located in Helsinki, Finland, is the epicenter of development and testing for the brand's smart watches.
These devices, known as wearables, have evolved significantly in the last decade, transitioning from accessories to powerful measurement and health tracking tools.
This multidisciplinary research center has a team composed of 6 doctors of science (PhD) and 20 experts in key areas such as physiology, artificial intelligence, machine learning, software testing, and software engineering.
Equipped with more than 20 types of sports equipment and monitoring machines, the laboratory focuses on developing and optimizing sensors and algorithms to improve the precision of smart watch measurements.
High-performance athletes who collaborate with the laboratory are subjected to exhaustive tests that involve not only smart watches but also other monitoring machines.
Smart watches have evolved to measure a wide range of data related to health and sports performance, from step count and heart rate to sleep quality and oxygen consumption.
These devices have proven their usefulness in diagnosing medical conditions and are supported by scientific research.
Additionally, it is highlighted that these wearables not only provide accurate measurements but also serve as a source of motivation for people, allowing them to set and achieve physical activity goals in a self-determined manner.
